Since 1994, Acoustic Café has been radio's best international showcase for new and classic acoustic music. Each week, they air two hours of exceptional songs from some of the best singer-songwriters in the business, including live-in-studio performances. This winter, the live performance aspect of Acoustic Cafe goes on the road with three talented artists: Ben Sollee, Carrie Rodriguez, and Erin McKeown.
ABOUT CARRIE
"Some artists are blessed by such a humbling personality that ego never becomes an interfering factor in their craft, even as an audience watches a legacy growing right before their eyes. With a gift for songwriting, a love of performing, eye-catching beauty and an Austin accent warm enough to slather on toast, multi-instrumentalist Carrie Rodriguez fills any room simply with her smile and lack of pretense."

ABOUT BEN
Sollee hails from Kentucky, yet sounds nothing like the colloquial music one traditionally associates with the state (or anywhere else for that matter). He eschews traditional singer-songwriter and folk boundaries, choosing a cello rather than a guitar as his divining rod, and utilizing unique plucking and percussive bow techniques juxtaposed against his blue-eyed soul vocal leanings. When he ventures out of Louisville, sometimes he'll just strap this cello to his back and ride his bike rather than enjoy the comforts of a van or bus, as he did on his southern trek in the summer of 2009 -- playing intimate shows in every town he hits between his larger headlining performances.
ABOUT ERIN
Although Erin started writing songs while still in high school in hometown Fredericksburg, Virginia, she really began earning her chops while attending Brown University, releasing two albums before graduation and gigging on weekends whenever and wherever possible. She hasn’t slowed down, famously averaging 200 live shows a year. As a multi-instrumentalist, Erin’s become in demand as a session player, recording vocals, piano, bass lines and of course guitar tracks for other artists’ records all while steadily working on her own original material.
This show is 21+, with proper ID. Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 day of show. Doors at 7pm.
