On the one hand, what Formula412 does is traditional, if you can call hip hop traditional. Their focus on clever wordplay and punch-lines recalls the classic era of rap, the late 80s and early 90s. That said, it's on the musical side of performance where Formula412's innovation really shines. The basis for rap music is the emcee and the DJ. Formula412 incorporates live drumming, guitar, bass and keyboard in addition to the expected turntable and emcee combo, making them truly a hip hop BAND, not just an act.
This show is 21+, with proper ID. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 day of show. Doors at 8pm.
