More Information

Like Voltron's five furious beasts uniting in battle, this winter will see Bass Music's finest purveyors – FreQ Nasty, MartyParty and Opiuo – join forces to form a three headed bass behemoth dubbed Monsters Of Bass. This 17-date tour brings the bone-rattling dancefloor destruction to markets both large and small. Moreover, this is the largest Bass Music tour to ever hit North America! Spreading the Bass infection one city at a time.

about FREQNASTY
A major player in London's mid-nineties dance music revolution, the enigmatic FreQ Nasty is one of the most influential names on the bass music scene. From his earliest work on seminal UK labels Botchit & Scarper and SKINT, FreQ Nasty has since gone on to release a slew of cutting-edge records while collaborating and remixing a diverse range of artists including Fatboy Slim, Kelis, KRS One, Roots Manuva, Rodney P, and Reggae legend Junior Delgado. Recent years have seen the release of "Creator," his crossover hit collaboration with MIA producer Switch and Santogold, and the ground breaking, genre-defying FABRICLIVE 42 mix CD which was picked as DJ Magazine's compilation of the month. He is a regular at the Burning Man festival, where he brings his signature Bass-heavy mix of genres: from Breakbeat to DubStep, GlitchHop to DrumStep. The new FreQ Nasty EP, Dred At The Controls, will be released internationally through California's Muti Records in January; The A Side is a fusion of lush Detroit strings, skittery 2-step beats, wobble bass with a stupendous glitched-out dub-step breakdown, while the AA Side is a drum-step roller fusing the hyper speed of drum and bass and the half-time swagger of dance-hall.

Born and raised in South Africa, MartyParty (also one half of PANTyRAID) has been coined the Iggy Pop of electronic music both for his energetic live spectacle coined the "Purple Opera" and his own "Purple Music" concept – a hybrid of electronic music, dubstep and hip hop that together forms a totally new flavor of urban beat with the pretty, hypnotic elements of electronic music and the story telling of traditional song writing. MartyParty is releasing several EP's in late 2010, namely, "Blueberry Kush" (Out Feb. 15), "Skukuza," "Sour Diesel" and a full length Purple album to support the Monster's of Bass Tour on April 1.

about OPIUO
Imagine a precisely blended concoction of tight irresistible grooves, chunk fueled bouncy beats, luscious brooding soundscapes, dollops of stomach morphing bass, and a bowl of scrumptious glitch. Welcome to the musical world of Opiuo. The highly sought after Opiuo sound is being included in DJ sets from some of the biggest names in the business and features on high profile radio stations including BBC Radio One. His latest full length release "Slurp And Giggle" was nominated for Best Dance / Electronic Release at the Australian Independent Music Awards and reached number 10 on iTunes.
